Sharing printers

I have a windows 2000 machine which I am trying to use to share printers with
XP machines. All the computers are on the same workgroup. As it is set up
now, in order to do any file sharing or printing, I need to sign in with a
username/password to gain access to the printer on the Windows 2000 machine.
Is there a way to have it so the windows 2000 computer requires no
authentication, so it is an open share. I thought I set the
security/permissions up so everyone has access. But I think that is wrong
way to do it.
Any suggestions?

On the Win2k machine create user accounts and passwords which match the user
account/passwords used to log onto the XP machines.

The "quickest" way to bypass this is to assign a logon batch script for all
clients that require access to the specified resource. Free example scripts
can be googled for. Peer-to-peer networks are kind of a pain sometimes. You
might want to consider a server-client setup and save yourself some
headache...
