Sharing a modem between MS Fax and RRAS in Win2003

There's a problem when sharing a single modem between MS Fax and RRAS in
Windows 2003 Server. Modem adaptive answering does not work (but Microsoft
claims that Win2003 supports this feature).
I need to create a RAS server and fax server with adaptive answering on a
single modem, that can answer fax and data calls and direct them to an
appropriate service (fax calls - to MS Fax and data calls - to RRAS). I'm
sure that my modem (ZyXEL OMNI 56K PRO) supports adaptive answering (I've
checked INF file entries as recommemded by MS knowledge base). Both services
work fine if they are run separately, but when run simultaneously only fax
calls are accepted. Data calls are theated as errors by MS fax. All settings
concerning adaptive answering are ok.
What else should I do to make adaptive answering working correctly?

Is the adaptive answering setting enabled? By default, Adaptive answering is
disabled for the Shared Fax service in Windows Server 2003.

To enable adaptive answering in Windows Server 2003:

1. Goto Fax Service Manager

2. Go to Devices and Providers -> Devices

3. Right-click the modem and press Properties

4. Select the Microsoft Modem FSP tab.

5. Check the Enable adaptive answering if supported by the modem box.
