Setup Stops Responding with 34 Minutes Remaining

Im trying to load new W2003 on a new server. The server is
Raid 5. when the setup prompts me to load third party
drivers i install the drivers for the scsi. At the 34 min
mark n the Gui screen it locks up. Not only the
instalation but the whole server. cant move the mouse cant
use the keyboard.
I have looked up on microsofts site and found article
828267. I cannot look at the setuperr.log or the
setupact.log. each time I try to access them, It says in
use by another proccess. I cant use the setupapi.log
because by the time it logs the part where it stops
responding, the server locks up.

My question is how can i access the logs to look at them.

Is your BIOS up-to-date? Are you using the latest firmware/drivers for your
mass-storage controller?

What does the Pnplog.txt say?

Have you tried booting into the Recovery Console? there you may have access
to the NTFS file system to look at those log files.

You may find it easier to remove/disable all devices not required to load
the OS (you need mass-storage; video; keyboard; mouse, etc.) then loading
the hardware and drivers after the install is complete. (described in the
later part of that KB article).
