serious help needed

Please help me!
recently I have been having problems going into windows. I have winxp pro
(sp1) package. Every thing was working fine, until recently the computer
will restart on me for no reason even when I am in "safe mode" and a blue
screen will pop up saying that 'problems has been dectected and windows has
been shut down to prevent damage to your computer'... What would cost this
problem? Can anyone give me any suggestion please?

I have 2 pieces of 256 mb of ram, but I just noticed if I turn on my
computer, the computer would detect 512mb of ram, but when and if I get into
windows or safe mode a blue screen would appear and said something about
physical memory dump. It then would only detect only 384 mb of my ram... Why
is this happening?

I have no idea y my computer would do this.. Please help me in any way
possible.

First port of call would be when you boot your machine into safe mode, have
a look in the Event Viewer for more information on what caused your system
crash....

Type: Eventvwr.msc
Press Enter

Right click on My Computer -> Manage

On the left hand side you will see Event Viewer.

Check the System Log for what caused the PC to crash
