There has been a blue screen saying Windows detected problem and shut down to
protect computer..Is this a crash? It tells me to start in safe mode and
remove BIOS caching or shadowing...the only new software installed just a few
days before this started was Regisrtry FIX....could this have been a
problem....any help would be greatly appreciated...I have no idea what to do
in safe mode..
Thanks

Turning the BIOS caching and shadowing off would require you to boot into the
BIOS
not windows safe mode. but unless you know what your doing I'd suggest you
take it to a reputable repair shop, or a knowledageble friend.

Is Registry Fix a registry cleaner and did you run it? If so yes that could
be the cause of the problem. Do not use a registry cleaner. If you can
boot into Safe Mode, do a system restore to before you ran the registry
cleaner.

DUH!

It said nothing about safe mode. You're hallucinating.

You need to go into the BIOS to do that, and that's BEFORE Windows
even tries to load.

It might be a problem if you ran it.

Did you?

Nope, a registry cleaner is not a good thing. Yours is not the first post,
and won't be the last where problems show up after running one. Don't use
one unless you are knowledgeable about the registry and only use it to
recommend what might be deleted, then with your knowledge and research, make
an informed decision if that should be done.

Did you run system restore from safe mode?
