This link contains a technical explanation of the error but it contains
information difficult to understand:
http://snipurl.com/l6o7

The error code and parameter 1 are the useful bits because they are
useful search criteria for use with Google.

One lead suggest a virus. What anti virus software are you using.
Have you tried a full scan with updated definitions?

The HaxDoor virus may cause a "STOP 0x00000050" or "STOP
0x0000008e" error message

Another possibility
Windows Server 2003 systems using IPsec tunnel-mode functionality
may experience problems after you install the original version of 893066
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/898542/en-us

How old is the computer? Does it have a make and model. Was it
intended for use with USB2?

Are there any yellow question marks in Device Manager? Right click on
the My Computer icon on your Desktop and select Properties. Hardware,
Device Manager. If yes what is the Device Error code?

This freeware programme is excellent for getting information about your
computer:

Tip: To copy select Report, Quick Report, Plain Text, highlight required
text, right click and select copy. However, whilst this is fine for
posting small amounts of information into newsgroup messages
longer reports will irritate other newsgroup subscribers.

Hope this helps.

Messages often seem the same. Let's start at the beginning.

I suggest you Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should
help by allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Right click
on the My Computer icon on the Desktop and select Properties, Advanced,
StartUp and Recovery, System Failure and uncheck box before
Automatically Restart.

Enable automatic restart on system failure after you have captured /
copied and pasted the message in a further post here.

There will also be Error Reports in Event Viewer. Please post copies.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools,
Event Viewer. When researching the meaning of the error, information
regarding Event ID, Source and Description are important.

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308427&Product=winxp

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Double click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. This will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report
complete with links into the message. Make sure this is the first paste
after exiting from Event Viewer.

My Virus software is Norton 2003 updated with latest version.
USB2 is not installed now.
There are no yellw question marks in device manager. It shows all hardware
is running with no problems.
It is a Packard bell with AMD Athlone tm XP2600 2.13GHz 608mb Ram with XPSP2
version 2002 with all updates.
I have run a full system scan with no finds. I have also run Spyware Doctor
which has removed spyware and sorted out various problems with no difference.
I have also run Registry Mechanic which sorted various registry errors which
made no difference.
All error messages are the same as posted.
I will now disable the auto restart as suggested and let you know.

How frequently is this stop error occurring?

Can you please post copies of all Warning and Error Reports appearing
in the System and Application logs of Event Viewer during the 5 minutes
before the last stop error occurred.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools, and
Event Viewer. When researching the meaning of the error, information

Part of the Description of the error will include a link, which you should
double click for further information. You can copy using copy and paste.
Often the link will, however, say there is no further information.
