I have XP in a japanese language OS. I had to reinstall
windows last night. Now it keeps sending me to Japanese
language MSN, support etc. EEven if I enter from the US
site. Right now I am actually acessing this group thru
the Japanese site.

HOw do I get rid of this crap and get control of my own
PC? Anyone have any ideas on disabling this wonderful
feature

Hi

Try all of the following programs to check for and delete any spyware that
might be on your system:

Ad-Aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/
CWShredder - http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

Change regional options and internet options -> languages to english.

I use all of those. This is a freshly reinstalled system,
and it does that mostly with microsoft related sites. I
can start on the US site, hit a link and it goes to the
Japanese site. I don't think it is spyware, I has to be a
setting in this Japanese language XP. (I am in Japan) I
reinstalled XP using the Fujitsu recovery disk after a
crash required it.

If nothing else, does anyone know how to contact
Microsoft by email or online (I remember not long ago you
could post a question and a MS rep would actually answer
it. I can't find that now, but it was on the MS site.)
