Scanner Question: Epson Perfection 1670- does it scan text well?

Hi,
I am looking to buy a scanner.
I have looked at Epson Perfection 1670. Aside from scanning photos,
does this scanner work well scanning text docs? Does it have OCR
software?

Where are you? I see from your time zone that you possibly could be in the USA, in the
Pacific Time Zone, so Epson USA products would probably apply. Epson's web site is "not
the best" at describing their products, and I (personally) prefer the descriptions at
Fry's (www.outpost.com)

According to outpost.com ... their description is actually for the "EPSON 1670 PHOTO
SCANNER" ... and I *assume* that's what you are looking at

I've used this scanner, although not with the supplied OCR software,
to scan text and it's been OK.
