scanner probs in xp

i have an older scanner that worked fine in win98, but
now with xp it doesnt work at all. i tried to find
drivers for it that work in xp but none do, it requires a
mirascan driver, any ideas?

Drivers are entirely the responsibility of the device manufacturer. If the
scanner manufacturer has not provided compatible driver for XP it is likely
they aren't supporting it in XP. In such cases, there may be some other
drivers around but to save yourself a lot of headaches, your best approach
would be to replace the scanner.

bummer, i thought it would come to that. but just to let
you in on how old it is, it does 256 colors,lol

LOL, well the upside is, very good scanners are relatively inexpensive
today.

Searching Mirascan in google shows some mirascan drivers for XP.

i did just that on google and the drivers i found would
install than it would say follow the hints and it would
open the control panel?????now what.

I don't know, I don't have that scanner. Read the directions.
