Hello!

My Scanner doesn't work on WinXP, It is ( Acer ScanPrisa 640P ).
It works fine on Win98 or Winme.
I have installed its software MiraScan but it doesn't respond.

You most likely need to update your driver. You may locate one doing a google search

Uninstall the present drive from safe mode and reinstall the scanner
software.

Well of course it doesn't! You cannot use 9x/ME drivers under XP!

This is one of the situations where upgrading from 98 to XP is essential to
the use of hardware with limited driver support for XP. The scanner works
from the upgrade, but you have to jump through hoops to get it to work on a
clean install.
The reality is, don't even bother, go out and get a cheap USB scanner [the
Canon LIDO line is very good] and donate or scrap the Acer ScanPrisa 640P.

Sorry, Michael, but I took it to mean that the OP installed the 9x driver
*AFTER* the upgrade which, obviously, won't work.

But, I agree, it should be ditched - it must be what, at least seven years
old?!

Acer seem to have dropped out of the scanner market; and I suspect this
is a parallel port connection. These used drivers that work in a way XP
will just not allow. And makers saw it as an obsolete approach so do
not provide XP drivers (and it is probably why Acer have dropped out).
In other words - you will not be able to use it. USB scanners can now
be found quite cheaply
