Restore IE icon to desktop

I deleted my IE icon from my XP desktop. I went into the Display
Property/Desktop/Customize Desktop and tried to uncheck and then recheck the
Internet Exporer icon, but it does not come back.

How do I get that special IE icon to return?

right click, create shortcut, point to iexplorer

Click on Start/All Programs/ find IE, right click on it, click on Create
Shortcut and drag it over to the desktop.
