I had found renovate.exe in msconfig's autostart &
couldn't figure out what it was. The only thing I found
out was that the exe-file was used to "renovate" something
& was made by GST@ltd?
Now I'm a little bit on the way: my kids has downloaded
some small games from www.greenstreet.com (majoong,
Bowling mania & more) called eGames. A check at the links
at their site give me at the "about-link" a new link for
partners: one of them is GST! No idea what renovate is
doing but i tried to unmark it in msconfig & everthing was
still ok. Then I deleted the key in Register for
msconfig\autostart & after that it's about 30-40 sec
faster to startup. Maybe the the umarking in msconfig
causing a little bit slower start because it forces the
machine to a selectiv start in msconfig? At the same time
I deleted another autostarter: steam.exe from the same
place. It was coming together with some chat-pgm ("a must-
have" for Counter-Striker-Gamers, yes, the kids again) &
was also a a slowstarter.
Hope some of you find some of this info useful.
