Remote Assistance

When attempting a Remote Assistance session via Messenger, the "novice"
sends me an invitation, I accept it, and then nothing. No error message,
just no message on the other end saying that I've accepted the invitation,
no nothing. AFAIK, firewall isn't an issue, but I'll be doing a phone
consult this evening and wondered if anyone had a hint on this thing.

Hmmm... Only 3000 messages in 6 days. This group seems to have calmed down a
bit, <eg>.

Sorry I don't Gary, on your RA issue. Yes things have slowed down from
their peak of about 1000 a day. It's down right slow in here now! The
Vista general newsgroup has picked up and is a bit under 500 a day, but a
lot of those are off topic rants. Most are on what and how to upgrade.

While I don't have a solution for you - this generally problem generally
relates to a firewall or to a service not running (may also have implications
with permissions, but I haven't delved that deeply into it). It has
frustrated me so much in the past that I've resorted to the free
http://www.logmein.com service (rather than spend the time tracking down the
problem).
