Remote Assistance failing to connect

Have set up and tested Remote Assistance and everything was working fine.

Now, the remote user requests assistance through Live Messenger, gets the
Webpage Dialog box Inviting xxx to connect to your computer. I see the
invitation and accept it, the remote user sees the Dialog box change to
Invitation is accepted... then everything sops - user does not get the next
dialog asking them to confirm that I can see their screen and chat with them.

Have tested both locally (on same LAN) and remotely with the user on a dsl
connection - same thing happens.

Any assistance appreciated!

Have you ruled out your respective firewall(s) as the possible "culprit".

Have you checked the target computer's settings for time duration permitted
in the Remote Assistance tab? Maybe it is set at the default. Isn't the
default one minute?

I've brought back the remote PC for testing. It's now on the same network
segment, this is back to how I originally set up and tested Remote
assistance. Nothing has changed regarding firewalls so I don't think that
this is the issue.

As to the remote assistance tab, are you talking about System Properties,
Remote, Advanced? if so the Invitation life is set to 30 days.
