Recommended method to move old PST files

Old computer has archive.pst (Outlook is version 2007, but archive PST file
is version 97-2002)

What is the proper method to move this file from my old computer to my new
computer (version 2007)?

I tried to create a new data file (new PST version) and import the old pst
file, but that method keeps crashing Outlook.

[Also to note - the 'new' PST file for Outlook was created in the 97-2002
version if that matters]

I had another thread going - but I think I got it off track.
