problem moving old pst file to new pc

I am using Outlook 2007.

I have just bought a new pc and I want to use my old pst file. I have
followed the instructions (supplied previously on this forum) and got as far
as making sure my old pst file Inbox is the new delivery location. This
works: emails are being delivered to the correct (old) inbox. However, I
cannot close the pst file Outlook created by default when I went through the
set up process. it is greyed out. How do I make my old pst file the new
default?

With Outlook closed, use the Mail Applet in the Control Panel to manage the
data files

In Outlook use File-> Data File Management and set the pst-file containing
all your mails as the default.
Restart Outlook.
Go back into File-> Data File Management; you should now be able to
disconnect the empty pst-file from your mail profile.
