Receiving Mail

Having successfully set up Windows Mail and both sent and received messages,
the process of receving mail now simply freezes - the screen shows 'receiving
mail' and correctly identifies the number of messages to be received but
nothing happens. The only change which might affect this is that I have
copied my old Explorer files across but not as far as I know anything else
which might affect performance.

Any ideas?

Did you import the Explorer files, instead of just copying them?

What "old explorer files", and why do you think they might be relevant to
mail?

It can happen that a corrupt message on the server mailbox prevents mail
downloads.

Try logging into your ISP - provided web mail interface and see if there is
anything there - perhaps move anything out of the inbox so it isn't
downloaded. Then go back to your email app and try sending to yourself
and receiving again. If it now works, back to webmail and move the
messages one at a time back to the mailbox until you find the one that
hangs. That one will have to be deleted via webmail.

I'm having the same problem. This is really frustrating! I have been trying
to receive messages for the past four hours now!

Any help would be really appreciated!

Thanks!!
