Problem receiving mail

C

Chris

About 1 in every 5 emails does not come in through Windows Mail. I know this
is happening because I've set up a forwarding account Google Mail. Spam
filter is not on so that's not the problem. It seems random so I
receive/don't receive email from the same addresses. It's not affected by
attachments. Any ideas?

Who is the provider of the mail account having this problem?
If you go to the webmail interface, are the missing messages there?

Chris

I don't know who the provider is as it's provided by a web company as a
reseller account. Also, I don't have webmail so I'm afraid I don't know. I
contacted the web company and they said they have 300+ accounts and no
problems with them. I assume it must be a problem with my machine.

Gary, I am having the same problem. How do I get to my webmail interface to
look for lost emails?

I'm having similar problem. When I sign in to my Windows email there may be
5 or 6 messages there and then one or two of them disappear. My ISP is
comcast as well

In your case the provider of your email service would be the web hosting
company. If they don't offer webmail access to that account, you can
probably access via the web by going to http://mail2web.com.

The only other thing I can suggest is to look through your Junk E-mail
folder and Deleted Items folder in Windows Mail. Also, make sure that
under Tools, Junk E-mail Options, you haven't enabled the "Permanently
delete..." option.

How long does it take for them to disappear? Make sure (while you have
the Inbox folder open) that your View, Current View, is on "Show All Messages".

Comcast is your Internet Service Provider (ISP). They may or may not be
your mail service provider. The way you can tell, what is the part of your
email address after the @ symbol?

The OP is using a vanity (personal) domain name, which is hosted
on a website. The web hosting provider also provides mail services
under that private domain name.

I don't know who the provider is as it's a reseller account. I don't have a
webmail interface. I assume it's something wrong with my machine/software.

Gary made recommendations to you in his second post on 1/16. Otherwise, you
must tell us the companies / websites involved if you want any possible
solutions. Who is the website you used to set up email? What is the part
of your address after the @ symbol? And, who is your ISP (such as Comcast,
Verizon, Cox, etc - the company your PC is connected to the internet
through)?
