random system freeze

For about a month now I have been having a problem with random system freezes
with no indication of errors in the even viewer. I can be online or not even
be at my PC and it freezes up. I have to reboot everytime this happens and I
note the time on the desktop and go back to event viewer but nothing is there
to indicate any type of error. Any ideas?

Hi

Have you got all the latest drivers for your devices downloaded/installed
from the manufacturer's web sites? Is your system up to date with Microsoft
Update - the Security Hotfixes?

Random errors like you describe are usually caused by failing hardware.
This can be bad RAM, overheating, or other components.

Testing hardware failures often involves swapping out suspected parts
with known-good parts. If you can't do the testing yourself and/or are
uncomfortable opening your computer, take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigStoreUSA).

Thanks for the info. I have tried a few of these things but not all of them.
I will go back and do some more testing.

It could be caused by a memory problem.
Try running a memory test program from a bootable floppy or CD. Two
free ones are:
