Computer freezes for 3 seconds...

I have a HP Pavilion a747c computer that keeps freezing for about 3
seconds at random... I've checked for spyware, I've looked in the
Event Viewer, I've swapped the mouse, what else can I do? Are there
any logs or programs that can track what is causing the freeze?

Yes, SysInternals offers a program called Process Explorer. It has
real-time counters that should show what process is utilizing the CPU.

I used the program and I believe the problem is due to Hardware
Interrupts... Anyone know anything about how to troubleshoot that type
of issue?
