question about activex compatibility

Hello
I've a problem with an activex component for IE 6 in some machines, in one
in it
registry i see that the compability of the activex is 5.17 but the computer
is full of windows update, How can I upgrade the compability in orden to use
the activex component.

Where in the registry are you looking?

Where are the ActiveX components installed?
If they are in the Downloaded Programs folder you should be able update them
by selecting update from the context menu. Otherwise check with the vendors
website for updates.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ActiveX Compatibility
there's a value version that it's 5.17.

The activex is developed by Seagate, it's an crystal viewer
