remove activex control from "c:\windows\downloaded program files" butstill works

hello,

I have downloaded an activex control (mfc dll) from a web site. It
shows under "c:\windows\downloaded program files".
I delete the activex control from "c:\windows\downloaded program
files" successfully, it does give any error message.
However, when I looked up the registry, some registry entries still
remain.
My question is, how can I ensure a complete uninstall of activex
control?

From what website did you download this ActiveX Control?

Windows version? IE version?
