Public Folders MOVE not COPY

G

Guest

Hi,

How do I let my user's drag and drop feature to public folders move the
item instead of copy the item. We get over 500 emails in these folders a day
and can't waste time cleaning up the copies we don't need.

Use the right muose button to drag and drop instead of the left one.

They'd still rather have the drag and drop function move the item not copy it.

I have the same issue. There's no solution for this?

Yes, the solution is to drag and drop using the right button and choosing to
copy the item, or, hitting the delete button after you've dropped the file.

It'd be nice if every single possible configuration was able to be
customized in Outlook, but, heck, I think Tools - Options is already pretty
darn ugly. I'd hate to see how much worse it can get.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

This did not work for me.

What I want to be able to do is move e-mails from one folder to another. All
they ever do is copy, even if I choose Move to Folder on the Edit menu. I
don't understand why. I have Outlook 2003 and I'm trying to move the e-mails
to an archive folder.

Well, that's... odd.

If you drag from one folder in a single store to another, does it move
successfully?

I know it is weird.

If I drag the e-mail, it copies it. I alway have to go back to the original
folder and delete the e-mail from there.

Ok, I want to be 100% sure with what you're saying =)

If you have:

Calendar
Inbox
|-Sub Folder 1
|-Sub Folder 2
Outbox
Sent Items

And you drag a mail item from Inbox to Sub Folder 1, it copies the message
and then it exists in both locations.

Correct? I just want to be completely sure.
