Outlook public folder & exchange

SBS 2003 all service packs using exchange - outlook 2003 all service packs.
Have created public folders with all members able to use these folders. Would
like Outlook to notify other group members when a new item has been copied to
a shared public folder. Using the public folders to share emails. Someone
gets in an email that applies to everybody they then move the email to a
shared public folder at this time we want Outlook to notify everyone in the
group that uses this folder to be notified a new item has been placed in it.

Thank you for any assistance

You could use the Folder Assistant on the folder to forward a copy of the new message or check out the tools listed at http://www.slipstick.com/addins/notify.htm

All people in the office have these public folders displayed in their
Outlook. What we need is when the phone person that gets the company email
that all need to read and some might need to act on, she moves the email to
one of the public folders that all have complete access to. We would like the
other computers outlook to display that an email has arrived in a public
folder. At this time we are forwarding the email to all which creates many
copies of the same email.

Exchange uses SIS (Single Instance Storage) which means that only one copy
of the message exists with pointers from the various recipients to that
message. Multiple copies are not created.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

After furious head scratching, whatever asked:
