program not responding

I am using Windows XP home and frequently ,but not always, when I try to
shut down I get a dialogue box which is marked 'sgtray.exe' and I am told
'program not responding' do you wish to end program now. when I click on
'yes' I get another box saying the program is not responding.
Why is this happening
Any help would be appreciated

program not responding is quite common wen shutting down windows. Useally if
you end up getting more than one of those boxes its prob cos you click the
button too many times to stop it. Just click once or wait for the bar to go
accross it will end. Best way to stop this is to shutdown all your running
programs before you shutdown and that will reduce that chance of this message.

Sonic update manager use this programme - someone else does as well but I
can't remember. Best to turn it off.

This program has to do with your backup software. If you do not do daily
backups, take this application out of your startup folder.

sgtray.exe is the executible file for a program called StorageGuard from
a company called Veritas.
