What is ccSvcHst ?

When I shut down my computer, I get a window that says ccSvcHst is not
responding and I have to tell it to end program to complete my shut down.
This does not happen every time, but it is quite frequent. I cannot figure
out what causes it. Any body know what I should be looking for to resolve
this?

That is a background service that is part of a Norton product.
Not at all surprising as Norton products are no longer efficient,
effective or fairly priced. Beyond making sure Live Update is
getting all the available updates it's a mostly unfixable issue &
has only a single solution - remove it and buy something that
will work.

Thanks for the response. I was thinking it might have somethnig to do with
my Norton 360. Any recommendations for a better program?

Anti-Virus protection NOD32 from Eset.Com ~$39, can get a 30
day trial to test on your machine. For a free firewall program that
has more capability than XP's built-in I'd try a fairly new but good
application called Online Armour

Nod32 ( Be sure to select only AV not the Security Suite )
http://www.eset.com/

Online Armor ( Select the free version of the Firewall )
http://www.tallemu.com/

Many thanks again for the information and the links to the sites. I will
make use of them.
