Windows XP Shut Down

When I shut down Windows file ccSvcHst tries to end. I then get a message
that it is not responding and if I want to end task. After clicking yes, my
computer takes a very long time to completely shut down (3 to 5 minutes). Any
help with this problem will be appreciated.

That file is part of a Norton (Symantec) program. My best recommendation to
you is to get rid of Norton and install a better antivirus such as NOD32,
Kaspersky, or even Avast if you want a free one. The built-in Windows
Firewall is adequate for most people.

Try the following:

Go to Start > Run and enter REGEDIT and press OK. This fires up the
registry editor.

Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop. Edit the
following keys:

1) AutoEndTasks: Default is 0, make it 1

2) Close the Registry editor and reboot. Next time you shut down it
won't bother you to close it.
