When I start my computer I get to the windows XP loading screen and then the
screen turns black. I don't get any error message or something like that. And
very rarely I can start my computer but then when I try to start any game the
screen turns black again. I can start the computer in diagnostic mode.
Please help me.

Thanks in advance.

What Error Reports appear in Event Viewer? Access Event Viewer in
Safe Mode.

Please check Event Viewer for Warning / Error Reports in the System and
Application logs for the time of the error and post copies. You can always
cause an error to occur and note the time and then inspect the logs.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools, and
Event Viewer. When researching the meaning of the error, information
regarding Event ID, Source and Description are important.

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308427&sd=tech

Part of the Description of the error will include a link, which you should
double click for further information. You can copy using copy and paste.
Often the link will, however, say there is no further information.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and click
on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a button
resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event Viewer. Now
start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of the message. This
will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report complete with links
into the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from Event
Viewer.

Hope this helps.

Sounds like a Video Adapter driver problem.

Enter the Safe Mode options by tapping the F8 key. Select "Enable VGA Mode".

Remove any Video drivers listed in the Add/Remove Programs which can be
found in the Control Panel. Reboot your computer if necessary. Download and
install your Video Adapter drivers from the Manufacturer's web site.
Hopefully this will solve your problem.
