Problem installing SP4 for Windows Server 2000

J

John Pope

Every time I try to update the OS with SP4, I get the
following error:

"Required DLL not found" The window is titled SP4ISS.

Then it says,

"Setup failed to remove ism.dll script mappings"

So the installation fails and I have no idea how to solve
the problem.

Note: I am running a Terminal Server on this machine.

You might want to try the following:

1. Check c:\winnt\system32\inetsrv for ism.dll. If you do not find this
file, copy one over from another server and then rerun the SP4 install.

or

2. Shutdown the following services and then try to reapply SP4:

IISADMIN
World Wide Web Publishing
FTP Publishing (if installed)
