Printer Window Freezes

Hi Everyone,

Doesn't matter what printer i choose the printer window freeze when i need
to print from any program. It takes about 2minutes before i can actually
select the printer. Once i select the printer it is fine. It doesn't matter
what program I use, it can be Microsoft Word, Excel, or my propertary
software it freezes when the printer windows populates. Also I have three
different printers so it doesn't matter what printer. I have uninstalled all
my printers and the problem is not resolved. restarted the print spooler. So
i am fustrated and out of options. Hopefully you can help me out.

Hi:

You do not indicate the make and models of your printers nor your
Operating System. I have no idea as to why you would have more than one
printer installed.

Most leading printer companies now offer a removal or uninstall tool when
normal uninstalls do not work. Normally the best method for uninstalling a
printer is to use the uninstall feature of the Program itself or use the
installation CD to remove. However, in your case I would recommend that you
again uninstall all printers through the Program uninstall feature and also
use the removal or uninstall tool afterwards. Sounds to me like some files,
most likely Registry files, have still been left on your computer after you
uninstalled.

You need to be sure that you have uninstalled all related printer files
before reinstalling. Once this is done I would only install the most
preferable printer and see if it works OK. You need to follow the install
instructions specific to the printer being installed. Normally you start the
installation without the printer connected to the computer and it will
advise you when to connect etc.

Could help you better if the make and model of printer was known, as well
as the Operating System.
