Printer sharing problem

I have a Brother 5040 laser printer connected to XP (SP1) based
windows PC using the USB port. I have enabled printer sharing and have
shared the printer. I am trying to access the printer from a PC
running Windows 95. Both machines are connected on a dbase10/100
network using a D-link DI-704 cable router. I am able to share files
and Internet access on the network. When I trying to add the printer
to the Windows 95 machine (using add printer from control panel), the
printer does not show up on the network. Any ideas why and how to fix
it? In the past, I had a printer attach on the parallel port of the XP
machine and had no problems printing from the Windows 95 machine.
Thanks for any help.

If my memoery serves me right, make sure the printer share name is 8
characters or less when working with Win95 or Win95 won't see it.

when the printer is shared, the LAN is working properly, and the
printer is set to 'local' from the machine its attached to. when you
browse the network and double click the shared printer from the remote
machine a popup will ask if you want to set it up. That's how I have
always done it.
