Whenever I print something and popup appears down by the
system tray stating that the document has been sent to
the printer. This will not close until I physically close
it myself. Is there a way to stop the popup ir to have it
close after the job is printed.

Check with the software that is installed for the printer.

There are usually configuration and options settings that can be managed by
the user.

Taskbar Tray popups have nothing to do with a particular printer's software.
It's a function of XP.

I too would like to know of a way to disable this particular popup.

FOUND THE ANSWER:

"Printers & Faxes" window, "File" menu, "Server Properties", "Advanced" tab.
See the 2 check-boxes "Show informal notifications....", uncheck them.
Wala! No more printer popups.
