Print Queue not clearing after successful print

Hello,

I have a receipt printer attached to an HP JetDirect box
via an parallel printer cable. I have installed this
printer on a win98 client and it prints out fine. When I
try to print from a win2k pro machine, the printer prints,
but the print jobs remain in the queue with a status
of "Printed". The problem is that when I reboot the win2k
pro machine...all the print jobs that are queued get
printed again. The print spool folder is not read only.
When I manually delete the .SPL and .SHD files, the next
time I print all the print jobs remain in the printer's
queue. But if I cancel all documents, the .SPL and .SHD
files disappear....HELP!
