Print box slow to come up!

OK when I go to FILE > PRINT the print box takes about 5 -9 secs to appear.
There are no network problems, the print srv (w2k srv) is showing no errors,
have rebooted the srv, reinstalled printers and loads more. Any reasons for
this box to appear after a brief pause. Any help / advice would be greatly
appreciated.

We had a similar problem, and solved it by turning on all printers.

The problem was a timeout problem: The print box appears after
contacting all queues on all printers, and while the printers where
offline, there was no contact. So Windows waited until it has a timeout,
and this was after a few secs.

So, maybe this helps, or turning off this g..ood f..eature...
