pointer jumping around on screen

Within the past three days, my pointer has begun jumping
around on the screen, accompanied by one or more beeps.
Usually, it goes to the bottom of the page, and more
often than not, takes the whole page to the bottom with
it. It does it everywhere, desktop, e bay, CNN, other
sites, and appears to be getting worse by the hour. I
have done a virus scan, system restore to two weeks ago,
put everything to default, and unenabled cookies. No
change. To say this is an aggravation is a gross
understatement.

Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this
situation?

Do you use a wireless mouse. It may be recieving random
signals.

No, the mouse is hardwired. My first thought was the

mouse, tho, but now am not sure. Thanks

FWIW, it seems to be the mouse. I have hooked up an older
mouse that I quit using for some reason, but now the
problem seems to have gone. It is the round file for that
mouse. Thanks
