When I had my (Epson C-80) on a USB port, the print
quality was at best poor. The quality return when I
reconnected it on the Parallel port, however it is
printing much slower than before. According to my
handbood, I should enable ECP/DMA. Can some one help me
in making this change.

You would do that in the BIOS (CMOS) settings for your computer.

Exactly how to do that depends on the particular computer (not the operating
system).

Usually, one starts the BIOS setup by pressing a particular key on the
keyboard (e.g. Del) early in the boot process. Which key to press is
usually indicated on the monitor while the boot process is underway. If you
have "Fast Boot" or the equivalent enabled, you may have only a very short
time after power on to press the right key.
