outlook03_pop3_ gmail. error msg _not accepting user name or pass

i tried to configure outlook to receive email from my netscape email account.
when testing the account settings on outlook it verifies it has established a
network connection, has found the incoming pop3 server and outgoing smtp
server, has successfully sent a test message, but fails to log on to the
incoming pop2 server. the error message states that it cannot log on to the
incoming pop3 server because the server did not accept my user name or
password. however, i did verify that my user name and password were spelled
correctly and in the proper case. any help would be appreciated.

AFAIK the only application that can send and receive Netscape mail
is.....Netscape, and always has been...
