Outlook won't send email

I am using Outlook 2003.
Account settings are correct and test message sends OK and I get a reply
back. In outlook itself any message I type will not send. It always says'
connection to server was interrupted'.
All settings have been checked including router, firewall, antivirus and
spysweeper. I have now replaced 2003 with outlook 2007. Same proble. If I use
Thunderbird all is OK. what is wrong?? Can anybody help please?
Thanks.

Hi,
Thanks for your help but emails will still not leave my outbox.
I have runn the PST scan and also CHKDSK and looked at the log file I
created. I cannot see anything that appears to be a return error.
The strange thing is that Outlook will send an Account test message OK so
all be appears to be working properly. Any mail in the outbox gets a 'server
interruption error 0x800cc0f'. My IP says there is nothing wrong with the
connection. I have disabled the Firewall, AV and Spysweper. The problem is
still there even when I upgraded Outlook 2003 to 2007.
Frustrating isn't it!

What do youhave your send/receive interval set for? It should be nothing less than 10 minutes. I personally use 30 minutes.

|| Check the log file for why the error is being returned.

The first thing to do is to uninstall the AV program and reinstall it
without the mail scanning feature. See that happens then.
