I have a stand along computer that is not on a network. My operating system
is Windows XP Professional.

Several times a day I will open up my Outlook 2007 to retrive my emails.
While I am reading my emails the programs will all the suddend start sending
emails that I have not written. The lower bottom right corner will all the
sudden say sending
1 of 3 emails at a time when I have not composed any emails. It will even
repeat this process every few minutes. All the time my Outlook "outbox"
file is completely empty.

I cannot tell that a email has actually been sent and no sent emails show up
in my
"sent items". Maybe an email is not being sent, but I can't tell.

I have Windows Live Onecare on this computer and have not had it problems
with virus on this computer. Also have spyware program that has picked
anything up either.

How do I get it to stop sending this unknown email?

Thanks

These are probably read receipts. Have you configured Outlook to not send
these receipts out? Check in Options.

Here is what I have under the Tracking Options I have the following:
Checked boxes for "process request and responses on arriveal"
process receipts on arrival
after processing, move receipts to - Deleted
Items

Also check "delete blank voting and meeting responses after processing

Did not check either of the boxes for "For all message I send, request"

And under the option - how to respond - I have the option
"ask me before sending a response"

Are these the options you are referring to? Should I change any of these
option?

Thanks for your help.

Is this an IMAP account? A bug has come to light recently that will cause
"not read" read receipts to be sent when unread messages are deleted from
IMAP accounts. There are numerous other posts about this issue. See this:
