outlook 2003 email account setting changed

I setup an account for my gmail. In 'Server Information', I typed in
'pop.gmail.com' for 'Incoming mail server'. But after I close outlook,
it sets it to 'localhost'.
However, the outgoing mail server looks OK.
Anyone could help me on this? I am new to outlook 2003, and it looks
great, but I don't want to reset the mail server every time.
Thank you.

Sounds like you've got an anti-virus program setup to scan incoming mail
that's doing that. Check your anti-virus program...

Hi Vince, That's true. I turned off my Pccillin Internet Mail Scan
(POP3) and the settings is saving. I am wondering if I still would like
my mails to be scanned, how can I do this?
Thanks, swing

There's no reason to scan incoming messages if you continue to run the AV
program's on-access or real-time scanner. Your best safeguard is between
your ears. Don't open attachments unless you know the sender, you asked for
the attachment, and can confirm s/he sent it.
