Hi all,

I am using Outlook 2003, and have recently just configured an internal
e-mail account. :

Logon Information:
User Name: (e-mail address removed)
Password : xxxxxxxx

Server Information:
Incoming mail server (POP3) pop.gmail.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com

When I set it up, everything went fine, but when I shutdown the machine and
then open Outlook, it always display an error that I can send but not
receive. On checking the configuration again, the relevant setting
automatically changed as follows:

Logon Information:
User Name: (e-mail address removed)/pop.gmail.com
Password : xxxxxxxx

Server Information:
Incoming mail server (POP3) localhost
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com

It seems really weird to me. Needless to say, I have to manually correct the
setting every time before I can receive e-mails. Why is that? Please advise.

This is not being caused by Outlook, but by either an anti-spam program or
an anti-virus program on your computer.
