Outlook 1997

Hi! I work for a concierge service, and we have a customer that often
contacts us with computer related questions. She recently started using MS
Outlook 1997. It is difficult for me to help her, because I have the 2003
version, and it is obviously different. She is not very computer savvy, so
she has difficulty with even the smallest tasks. She wanted to know how to
view appointments for an entire day in day view or week view. She said
Outlook 1997 does not have Work Week view. When I asked her if she had a
scroll bar, she said no for day view, and yes for week view. She said in day
view, she can only see apointments until about 1 pm, and there is no way to
scroll farther. She said in week view, there is a scroll bar, but it does
not allow her to see an entire day's appointment for each day of the week,
but rather, the scroll bar will scroll to different weeks in the month. She
wants to be able to see her entire appointments for each day, as well as each
week. In addition, she asked the following question, "In the week view, the
little arrows at the bottom of each day, must do something, I think.
I wonder if there is a way to use that arrow, to see the rest of the
entries on that day, in the week view.

Without seeing all the entries, I can't even move them to another day.

When I click on the arrow, I get a bell sound, or it opens up an appt. But
maybe if I click combined with something else it will reveal the rest of that
day?" In addition, she she said this, "Also, could you please note my file,
that emails should not be real wide, as I am viewing on a notebook computer,
and I have to scroll from side to side, to read, if they are. I think yours
was fine, but some I get, I have that problem with."

We cannot change our computer generated e-mails. In Outlook 1997, can she
set text wrap or something else, so she doesn't have to scroll?

I did not see an MS 1997 tutorial online, but if you can answer my questions
and direct me to a tutorial, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!

In the calendar, make sure you have enabled both the standard and advanced
toolbars.

Click the icon for day. Set the view for day/week/month.

I'm going from memory, but see if that helps any. It's been a long time
since most people have used Outlook 97 because it's so old.

If this person is scrolling everywhere to see things, check the monitor
resolution.
