opening downloaded files & pics

Hello --
Something odd has just started to happen with my IE 6.0. Whenever I click
on a link that happens to be a link to download a file (i.e, pdf or word
document), I click on the "Open" button of the dialogue box, and I always get
the error message that the file cannot be found. My work-around is to save
the file to the desktop, and then open it from there. I'd prefer the more
seamless route I used to be able to take. Any ideas about how to correct?

Try clearing the cache or increase the size of the cache.
To do this go to Tools->Internet Options and click on General Tab
Click on settings in the Temporary Internet Files and change the size of the
cache
