On exiting Windows Mail, "winmail.exe" remains as active process

Window Mail was working fine, but 4 days ago a problem surfaced. Whenever I
exit Windows Mail, the window closes, but "winmail.exe" remains as a active
process. This prevents me from restarting Windows Mail unless I use the
"Task Manager" to end the active "winmail.exe" process. Does anyone know
what the problem and/or solution is to this is?

Funny you should mention this. I just ran Norton 360 live update and a file
was updated. Now, the problem is gone. My guess? A previous Norton update
broke it a day or so ago, Norton recognized the problem and issued an update
to fix the problem.

I would not trust Norton to keep it unbroken.
Their track record is not good.
