Windows Mail not opening

I am experiencing the following after double clicking on windows mail the
opening screen shows but the program does not open with the main window, but
the winmail.exe is operating in the processes section of the Task Manager.
Any sugestions on a. cause and b. solution.

Trend Micro PC cillin Internet Security 2008 installed on Thursday last
problem developed on the Following Sunday.

That sounds like more than just a coincidence.
As a test uninstall Trend Micro, reboot, then try Windows Mail again.

Unistalled and rebooted and got the following result for windows mail
runtime error
program:c:\programfiles\windowsmail\winmail.exe
This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way.

That does not sound good. It appears there is major corruption
in your Windows Mail program. I suggest you upgrade to
Windows Live Mail: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview
