Windows Mail unable to shut down

After exiting out of Windows Mail, I am unable to enter back in unless I go
in the task manager and manually shut down the processes for the Winmail.exe
file. This has been occuring for approx 1 weel. Is this a problem anyone
has encountered? Your help is appreciated.

What if any antivirus programs do you have? Some of them cause assorted
problems in Windows Mail, although seldom immediately.

Most of the McAfee antivirus products tend to cause problems in
Windows Mail, though it often takes longer than that. So do most
of the Norton antivirus products and a recent Trend antivirus
product.

If that's the cause of the problems, you will have to uninstall the
McAfee program to stop it from causing problems. You may
also have to delete your email account under Windows Mail and
create it again to remove the problems it caused.

Some replacement antivirus programs that don't cause such
problems are avast! and AVG, either one preferably with a
custom install that tells it to leave out the part that scans
email:
