Not able to search from the address bar

Laura

All of a sudden I am unable to search from the address
bar. I have checked the autosearch settings and they are
fine. I do not know what caused the problem or how to fix
it. If anyone knows, please help.

What is the error message or are you redirected elsewhere?

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware
http://www.lavasoftusa.com

and:

SpyBot-S&D
http://security.kolla.de/

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

More: This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite).
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.

Laura,

I am experiencing the same problem. Does your address
bar give you something like this when you search:

http:///?

Does this appear before your search keywords?

I too am experiencing the same problem. I get this 'http:///? dog'
(without quotes) when searching for the word dog. (or any word for that
matter.) Any idea's why that would suddenly occur, and would anyone know how
to get that function back?
Thank you
Gale
