How Do I Disable the MSN Search?

I'm using Internet Explorer 6.0. When I type anything other than a
valid URL in the address bar, Internet Explorer takes me to a page
called "MSN Search". I don't like that. How can I disable this
"feature"?

Browsing this newsgroup, I encountered a suggestion to use Search /
Customize / Autosearch Settings. I can't find any menu option called
"Search", however, so this advice doesn't help me much.

Hi TC :)

You don't mention which version of Windows you have, so you may have a bit
different set up if you use other than XP as your OS. But, basically, it
should be the same type of setup.

Try this and see if it helps:

On the toolbar you should see a button that says Search. It should be in
there on the same toolbar as History, Favorites, Back, etc. Click on that
and it should open a panel on the left side of your screen. You will likely
see across the top of the panel the word New...and it you don't see a
section called Customize on that same bar, run your cursor along the
dividing line of the panel between the Search panel and the IE screen, and
get the double arrows of the cursor <-->, then pull the panel to the right
to open it until you see the Customize section. Click on that and you
should then see a list of Search options you can select from.
