I have been hearing cricket noises on my computer at
random times. This just started up a couple days ago. Any
ideas?

The chirping noise may be originating from the WeatherBug
program (if it is installed). The chirping noise alerts the user
to adverse weather advisories (www.weatherbug.com).

Look in your Notification Area for the temperature icon.
