DVD Audio problem

J

Jack

When I put a dvd in the computer I hear nothing but noise.
The image is just fine but there is nothing but what sounds like white
noise.
Everything else in the computer works fine and when I listen to any audio
file it sounds perfect.
I've tried it in Win Media, PowerDVD, Media Player Classic and Nero.
They all produce the same noise.

Any ideas?

Thanks

J

If you open the Properties of the optical drive, then select the
Properties (TAB) is the option box "Enable Digital CD Audio"
enabled/tic'd ?

If you place a music CD in the drive does it play properly ?

Have you checked your Sound Card mixer to ensure the proper
mixer channels are selected and have a realistic playback level
( 50-70% of Maximum ). Usually you'll want to double-check
the "Wave" mixer and that it's not set to muted.
